The City of Troy has been recognized for contributing to Michigan’s entrepreneurial growth and economic development in the annual eCities study conducted by researchers at iLabs, University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Center for Innovation Research. Troy was one of 184 communities in the state to be honored as a five star community.

“Troy is proud to be a five star community and I believe this recognition highlights the value of Troy’s collaborative economic development activities,” Mayor Dane Slater said in a press release.

The eCities study analyzed data on the five-year changes in property values, community assets and tax rates, to determine the the top cities in growth.

Other Oakland County five-star communities include Bloomfield Township, Brandon Township, Lyon Township, Orion Township, Rochester Hills and Waterford Township. A complete list of five star communities is available at www.umdilabs.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/eCities/5-star%20communities.pdf.
