The Henry Ford Medical Center – Fairlane will spend $11 million to expand operations to a second location in Dearborn and add services.

The medical center will lease 65,000 square feet in a building at 5500 Auto Club Drive. The main medical center is about a mile away at 19401 Hubbard Drive.

In October, Henry Ford will move ophthalmology, women’s health, pediatrics and physical therapy to the new location from the Hubbard clinic.

New services at the Auto Club location will include dermatology, pharmacy, urgent care, laboratory and radiology, said Cecelia Fydroski, administrator for Henry Ford Medical Center – Fairlane.

Fairlane already offers 24-hour adult and pediatric emergency care. The new center is expected to open in October.

The Fairlane medical center is the busiest of Henry Ford Health System‘s 29 ambulatory centers, with 350,000 patient visits and 62,000 emergency-department visits each year.
