If you think you have what it takes mentally and physically to compete on reality competition show “The Amazing Race,” head down to the open casting call June 2 at CBS 62 Studios in Southfield.

The station is looking for adults to represent Metro Detroit on the Emmy Award-winning show, which features about a dozen teams who rush around the globe looking for clues. The winning team gets $1 million.

Each team must be a duo with some sort of relationship (husband and wife, siblings, roommates, etc.) so CBS 62 asks that hopefuls come to the casting call in pairs. Individuals will not be permitted. Attendees should also bring a signed video release form with them, which can be found at www.CBSDetroit.com. A valid photo I.D. is also required. Pairs should be prepared to explain on video why they should be contestants “The Amazing Race.”

The casting call, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 2 is also a food drive for Forgotten Harvest. Non-perishable food items will be collected. The station is at 26905 W. 11 Mile.

NBC is also looking at Metro Detroit to cast a new show produced by Ellen DeGeneres. “First Dates” is an observational documentary series that is set to start production in July in Chicago. The show is asking that single people ages 18 and older to apply at www.firstdatescasting.com.
