Florida among Top 5 states people are moving to, says U-Haul

When to comes to states where more people are moving to, Florida ranks high, according to U-Haul.

The Sunshine State ranked No. 2 for growth in one-way arrivals of U-Haul trucks with an 8 percent rise year-over-year. The Phoenix-based moving equipment rental company said the increase could be attributed to a record-setting hurricane season in 2017.

Those arriving trucks accounted for 50.2 percent of all one-way U-Haul traffic to the state, according to data collected from the 1.7 million one-way U-Haul tuck rental transactions that occurred during the year.

Rainel Gonzalez, U-Haul Co. of Miami president said Florida’s “eternal summer” weather and lack of state taxes were also major drivers for the growth in new residents.
