Amazon.com plans 2nd Michigan center that would employ 1,600, sources say

Amazon.com is planning to open a second Southeast Michigan fulfillment center in Romulus with 1,600 new jobs, and the Michigan Strategic Fund’s board will consider a $5 million business development grant Tuesday for the expansion, Crain’s has learned.

The Michigan Strategic Fund board’s Tuesday agenda lists a Michigan Business Development Program grant for Amazon. A person familiar with the matter who requested anonymity confirmed it is a $5 million grant for Amazon to open a facility in Romulus.
