4 new businesses coming to southeast Oakland County

Vegan pizza, longer lashes and alternative medicine are what some of the newest small businesses in southeast Oakland County are hoping to serve up to customers and clients soon.

Carmoni’s Pizza (you might remember it better as Marconi’s Pizza, but more on that later) is expected to open in mid-September at 204 E. 14 Mile Road,  said Joan Horton, Clawson Downtown Development Authority director. It’s a block east of Main Street, next to the Biggby Coffee.

Known for its Detroit-style, vegan and thin-crust square pizza, Carmoni’s cultivated a loyal following who crave the dough and sauce that’s made daily, said Katina Scott, who schedules food truck events for the pizzeria.

The Clawson location is the third for this southeast Michigan chain. The other two are in Bloomfield Township and Rochester Hills. The Commerce Township spot — also on 14 Mile Road — closed.
